Letter standards
To ensure your documents can be printed and sent via Pingen, they must comply with certain standards. In this article, we have summarised the most important requirements for you.
Format and size specifications
- With Pingen, individual letters can be uploaded as a PDF file or several letters combined as a continuous PDF
- Over 100 PDF files can be uploaded via a ZIP file
- The PDF page size must be A4 (210 mm x 297 mm)
- The file size must not exceed 8 MB
- Maximum number of pages per letter:
- Germany: Up to 320 pages
- Switzerland: Up to 120 pages
- Austria: Up to 320 pages
- Netherlands: Up to 14 pages
- Belgium: Up to 320 pages
- France: Up to 320 pages
- United Kingdom: Up to 500 pages
- India: Up to 16 pages
- Rest of the world: Up to 120 pages
Layout requirements
With Pingen letters are sent using windowed envelopes. This requires that on the 1st page the recipient address is stated in a certain area and no content is present in the associated area required for the postal information. Furthermore on each page certain areas on the border of the document must be clear of any content due to the print automation.

Layout requirements (French Organisations)
For Organisations using France as Default Destination Country, different layout requirements apply due to specific requirements by La Poste (French Post). They require that on the 1st page the recipient address is stated in a different area and a “safe zone” around the Address Area must remain free of any content. Furthermore on each page certain areas on the border of the document must be clear of any content due to the print automation.
