Address from Metadata

The "Address from Metadata" feature is designed for API users and developers who provide recipient addresses directly via the API (meta_data sender attribute). You can choose whether the address shall be placed on the existing first page or on a new cover page.

Alternatively, this feature can also be used if the recipient address is included in the PDF metadata. This allows automated sending via Pingen integrations, such as Google Drive or E-Mail-Letter.

The "Address from Metadata" feature can be enabled via Presets. Learn more about Presets here

Note: If the "Address from Metadata" action is enabled, any address information within the PDF content will be ignored.

2. Configure the Action

  • In the Preset overview, click on the "Fix Recipient Address" action and select "Address from Metadata".
  • Example address: If a recipient address is already correctly embedded in the metadata of the Reference PDF, it will automatically be adopted. Otherwise, you can enter an example address manually.
  • Select whether the address should be placed on the 1st existing page or on a new page as a cover page.
Please note: If the "On the 1st page" option is selected, all content in the address area and the postage area will be removed.

3. Enable Action & Finalise Preset

  • Click on "Enable Action" to activate the action
  • If further actions are required for the Reference PDF, enable them as well
  • Finalise the Preset by clicking on the button "Finalise Preset"

Apply Preset

Once a Preset with the "Address from Metadata" action enabled is available, it can be applied to documents.

Via API:

To use the "Address from Metadata" action through the API, you must include the recipient address in your API request.

The provision of address information is currently in the beta phase. If you want to try it out, please contact our support.

Via Integrations:

To use this action with integrations like Google Drive or Dropbox, you need to define the Preset in the integration settings. In Pingen, go to "Organisation Administration" --> "Integrations", then edit an existing integration or create a new one.

When PDFs are transferred to Pingen via an integration, the Preset is applied automatically. If the "Address from Metadata" action is enabled, Pingen checks whether each PDF contains a correctly implemented recipient address in the metadata and places it on the document accordingly.
